HECreek, Day I – Installation

Everyday I like to explore new technologies and new tools that help me introduce the most creative and original ideas for my customers. As promised in my last post, I’ll blog my daily updates about HECreekdevelopment process in tutorial like posts and also as a documentation to my process…

Day I tasks were:

  1. Choosing the name & Register a Domain.
  2. Creating an official email & related social accounts.
  3. Create a Github organization account & Point domain to Github repo.
  4. Install Jekyll & create new project.
  5. Upload Jekyll output to the main site.
  6. Create a quick logo & choose brand colors.

Well since I’m a freelancer now, I decided to create a dedicated website for a new brand sole Proprietorship company to showcase my services and past work I’ve made during the past years plus being a playground for new technologies I learn through out the years.

Blogging with Jekyll

I’ve been trying new technologies every now and then. I’ve been a big fan of RoR since few years now but never tried to create an application with it… This time I tried to create and host my own personal website on GitHub Pages and make a good use of my no longer used github account

While creating a GitHub Pages I get introduced to Jekyll a simple blog-aware static sites generator that is so simple and easy to use hence it generate pages written by MarkdownTextileLiquid, or even simple HTML & CSS…

Back to Blog, Again!

It’s been a long time since I’ve blogged anything online… Recently, I’ve been extremely busy getting out of my bubble and was looking for a new adventure, and finally managed to create my new next big thing…
